Golf Shoe Reviews: Getting The Right Fit

Reviews on the FootJoy ReelFit golf shoe are mainly favorable.  In the review, FootJoy is looked to as being the leader in golf footwear. They don’t have to be worn all day before they are broken in.  The shoes are stylish and are available in black, black saddle, and brown saddle.

The rave, however, is over the FootJoy BOA Lacing System.  The new system which they have invented takes the place of shoddy laces that come untied constantly.  The fact that the FootJoy ReelFit requires no lacing makes a remarkable difference in the quality and comfort of these classics.  With the BOA Lacing System you just twist a knob to tighten the shoe.  To make them loosen you simply unlock it.  They are very easy to get on and off with this new system.

When you put the shoe on just slide your foot in them and turn the knob in a clockwise manner to tighten them.  The shoe begins to tighten around your foot and on the back of your heel.  To make the ReelFit less tight, you simply pull out on the knob and the tightness begins to subside.  There are other innovative ideas shown off in this and other FootJoy brand shoe as well.

One of the golf shoe reviews suggests that FootJoy shoes are superior to both Adidas and Nike brands.  It implied that Nikes are difficult to breaking and that they make painful sore places on your feet.  Adidas golf shoes are moderately uncomfortable to begin with but perform great after they are worn and broken in.

One disadvantage of the FootJoy is the huge price tag which comes attached to it.  They sell for about $199 per pair.  Another problem with the ReelFit is that it’s heel is blue and is too obvious.  I read that the knob isn’t too great either, although less conspicuous than the blue heel it is noticeable.  Never the less, even with the unattractive blue heel and strange knob most reviews on the FootJoy ReelFit were great.

The sandal style golf shoe did not fair well in the reviews.  The reviewer mentioned that her golfing friends had worn the sandal golf shoe and each had found them to be comfortable at first.  Later the friends were wearing socks with them.  When asked about why they were wearing socks with the sandals, the ladies mentioned that the sand had gotten into the sandals and irritated their feet.  Needless to say, the reviewer said she never did buy a pair of sandal golf shoes.  She said that she felt more comfortable in the regular style footwear.

Another reviewer raved over the Clima Cool Oasis.  This warm weather oriented design boasts such details as a lightweight feel, coolness, traction, and - of course - good ventilation.  They were created by Adidas and are priced at $85.

There are many brands available in golf shoes so be sure to select the right pair for you by going to your Pro Shop and trying the different brands on your feet.  Then make sure to check for comfort before you make a decision to purchase.
